Wow, the last month has just flown by! Naturally I'm sure you'll understand why I've been busy, life with our little man has been all consuming and hugely rewarding.? We've been making the most of family time and settling into a new routine, but I'll share more on that soon, todays post is all about scrapbooking.
Back in January 2011 I posted about how I wanted to complete a monthly scrapbook project, following on from seeing so many fantastic 2010 albums in blogland. Needless to say I totally failed! I didnt feel like we had anything exciting going on as we were just decorating all the time.? Looking back this was utter rubbish as we completely made over our home, welcomed a new family member (my niece), my mum moved house & i spent 8 months of the year pregnant!
So, 2012 is the year I will complete this project. I'm determined to make it work as this is our first year as a family.? My original draw to scrapbooking was the fact that our children could look back on our recorded memories, so having this little man in our lives has motivated me to get my scissors and glue back out.
I made a start on January's pages in the week that i went into labour, completing my first feature page and making a start on the split pages. I finished off last week, just before March began, so I was pretty pleased to be on track.
First up, the split pages.? This side is baby focussed, January saw my friends throwing me a baby shower, receiving some beautiful baby gifts from my knitting group & work colleagues & finishing off a ton of baby crafting for little one.
Side 2 is all about what went on in the month.? I started my maternity leave, we had some days out to a nature reserve, local museum & the seaside, we went on a date to the cinema, i finished off my Central Park Hoodie & the cats enjoyed a new game chasing my tape measure.
My first feature layout shows my weekly bump pictures in my last 4 weeks of pregnancy, I went into labour the day after finishing this, good timing!
January was all about being at home & getting ready for baby, this second layout documents some of the "nesting" that i did in my time at home.
I'm so pleased that I've managed to get off to a good start.? Its really helped me get my scrapbooking mojo back, my head is now buzzing with ideas for February's pages and I have ordered a new album to dedicate to layouts about our little man.
Back soon to share a new sewing project & more cute baby pictures! Until then, thank you for all your wonderful comments on my last post :-)
